Who We Are

Our story


The Washington State Federation of Democratic Women (WSFDW) is a chapter of the National Federation of Democratic Women. The National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW) was established in 1971 as a means of supporting women’s voices within the Democratic Party of the United States. The NFDW hosts national and state-level conferences and activities. The NFDW is a recognized constituent group of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), and therefore has three seats on the DNC. The president of NFDW is also part of the executive committee of the DNC.

The NFDW has 38 chapters around the country and looks to expand to every state and protectorate.

Our Core Values

The objective of the organization is to unite women of the Democratic Party; to promote the principles and values  of the Democratic Party as espoused in our platform, and to encourage full participation of women in every level of the Democratic Party Structure. Together, we:
